On the other hand, this article also discusses the study of trauma and theological concerns in trauma issues to understand the people in Ambon who felt the impact of the riots. This paper is presented with the aim of looking at changes in human behavior in the context of suffering, and helping readers to understand that suffering is not an avoidable thing. The research method used is a descriptive qualitative method through literature studies and through a hermeneutic approach to finding the meaning of quarantine in the Old Testament. This article shows that quarantine in the Old Testament was a form of obligation and provision that was commanded by God to his people with the aim of providing goodness for people's lives specifically in certain situations faced by God's people. Based on the meaning and purpose of quarantine according to the Old Testament, it is found that the quarantine carried out in the Old Testament is related to quarantine during the Covid-19 pandemic where through quarantine God's love for humans and human love for other humans can be realized by looking after and protecting each other. in the midst of a threatening Covid-19 pandemic situation. Therefore, quarantine in the Old Testament and quarantine in the midst of the Covid-19 pandemic are a form of love for God, oneself, and others.
Restifani Cahyami, Neneng Andriani, Resta Gloria Copyright (c) 2023 Restifani Cahyami, Neneng Andriani, Resta Gloria https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://ojs.sttibc.ac.id/index.php/ibc/article/view/95 Mon, 17 Apr 2023 00:00:00 +0000 Studi Deskriptif Kuantitatif Tentang Dinamika Pemberdayaan Warga Jemaat Potensial Oleh Para Gembala Sidang Di GBIS https://ojs.sttibc.ac.id/index.php/ibc/article/view/129
The dynamics of potential church member empowerment by Pastors in the Bethel Injil Sepenuh Church (GBIS) community are described in this article. However, for the case of properties in a walled city (Lev. 25:29-31), the Law is discriminative to non-Levite Israelites because their properties that had been sold or mortgaged could only be redeemed in term of one year otherwise it would become permanent possession of another person and could not be returned in Jubilee Year. The purpose of this article is to reveal the logical reason why Leviticus 25:29-34 is discriminative and its implication to the life of people living in a city today. For this reason, the author uses a qualitative method with a literature study approach. This article concludes that theological view and demographic reality of that particular time were contradictory that produced contradictory treatment of Jubilee Year Law to both non-Levites and Levites having properties in a walled city as a solution to restore the life of the poor living in cities.
David Pardomuan Sitompul Copyright (c) 2023 David Pardomuan Sitompul https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://ojs.sttibc.ac.id/index.php/ibc/article/view/176 Mon, 17 Apr 2023 00:00:00 +0000 Berteologi Kontekstual Dari Tranggang-Trangbu (Tradisi Ramah Tanah Masyarakat Wasinga) https://ojs.sttibc.ac.id/index.php/ibc/article/view/130
Land and the people who live on it have intimate interconnections. This is expressed in the form of local wisdom. Local wisdom itself has made many valuable contributions to land management by paying attention to aspects of sustainable ecosystems (sustainability). One of the local wisdoms is tranggang-trangbu in the Wangsina Community of Langkuru Village, Pureman District, Alor Regency. This local wisdom is based on the belief that even years are good years and odd years are bad years. Therefore, the Wangsina people will only plant in even years, while their agricultural land is rested on odd years. The location for the implementation of this tradition is on three large mountain slopes and will be cleared one by one (rotation system) every even year, so that the total time to rest the land that has been cultivated is 6 years. However, several problems arise in the implementation of this local wisdom, because this tradition is clashed with theological and economic understanding. These things, make the Wangsina people "giddy" in practicing their local wisdom. the method of writing this article is descriptive qualitative. Therefore, this paper aims to examine this tradition from the perspective of contextual theology in order to produce an understanding of land-friendly contextual theology in the Wangsina community.
Eunike Molebila, Delila Tanaem Copyright (c) 2023 Eunike Molebila, Delila Tanaem https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://ojs.sttibc.ac.id/index.php/ibc/article/view/130 Mon, 17 Apr 2023 00:00:00 +0000 Ketundukan Setara Pada Kasih Kristus: Tafsir Feminis Atas Efesus 5:22-33 Dan Implikasinya Bagi Perempuan Penyintas Kekerasan https://ojs.sttibc.ac.id/index.php/ibc/article/view/115
This paper offers a reinterpretation of the text of Ephesians 5: 22-33 in a feminist frame, especially in the phrases “submit” and “head”. These two words are often used as an excuse to justify acts of subordination and even violence against women. The method used is Elisabeth Schüssler Fiorenza's Fiorenza's feminist hermeneutics, especially the hermeneutic model of suspicion. Reinterpretation efforts using the hermeneutic model aim to investigate more deeply the use of these words in the text and context in which they are written. The result is to offer an understanding that no longer puts women in a corner, and even perpetuates various forms of violence against women. The conclusion from this reinterpretation effort is that the text of Ephesians 5: 22-33 emphasizes mutual-submission to one another to the love of Christ.
Yosa Marianta Hetharie Copyright (c) 2023 Yosa Hetharie https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://ojs.sttibc.ac.id/index.php/ibc/article/view/115 Thu, 11 May 2023 00:00:00 +0000 Signifikansi Eksorsisme Bagi Pelayanan Yesus Menurut Injil Sinoptik dan Bagi Pelayanan Gereja di Indonesia https://ojs.sttibc.ac.id/index.php/ibc/article/view/177
This article will discuss the theme of Jesus as an exorcist and its significance to His ministry from the perspective of the Synoptic Gospels. The conclusions of this article are: 1) Jesus’ ministry of exorcism is unique because Jesus casts out demons on His own authority and shows the realization of God’s salvation for mankind, 2) the ministry of exorcism must remain an integral part, task, and calling of the church in the world until the end of time, 3) that a person who does not even know Jesus can cast out demons in the name of Jesus (Mark 9:38-41; Luke 9:49-50), where it shows that the name of Jesus has power over demons, and finally, and finally, 4) the implementation of the story of Jesus as an exorcist for the Indonesian context, that the church must be able to restore the existence of exorcism in the midst of cultural diversity, and perhaps even make efforts to contextualize it with culture in terms of exorcism in the name of Jesus. The method used is a literature study on the stories of exorcism by Jesus according to the Synoptic Gospels. This article will conclude that exorcism by Jesus will always be centered on the presence of the Kingdom of God in the world and in the future.
Carel Hot Asi Siburian Copyright (c) 2023 Carel Hot Asi Siburian https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://ojs.sttibc.ac.id/index.php/ibc/article/view/177 Thu, 11 May 2023 00:00:00 +0000 Peran Guru Pendidikan Agama Kristen Dalam Pembinaan Rohani Siswa https://ojs.sttibc.ac.id/index.php/ibc/article/view/153
The spiritual growth of students shows that there is a spiritual increase, therefore in order to get good quality students still get special spiritual guidance apart from learning. Schreiter's perspective on local theology. Preliminary studies of dalihan na tolu pretext have revealed the fact that there are differences between one person and another due to hula-hula status, dongan tubu or boru. The hula-hula will be highly respected in a ritual, dongan tubu as a friend of the person who holds the ritual, while the boru is the workers in the ritual. In this case, hula-hula becomes the party who really benefits compared to boru. In reviewing this paper, the author will use a qualitative method, namely Robert J. Schreiter's theology-based contextualization efforts on local theology with literature review. This study finds that dalihan na tolu pretext upholds the very high value of kinship, as well as Luke 16:19-31 which emphasizes caring for others. Based on this study, the authors conclude that the teaching of values contained in dalihan na tolu is a message that has theological value and is very important to defend.
Jhon Ferdinand Sihombing, Claudie Valda Silooy Copyright (c) 2023 Jhon Ferdinand Sihombing, Claudie Valda Silooy https://creativecommons.org/licenses/by-nc-sa/4.0 https://ojs.sttibc.ac.id/index.php/ibc/article/view/173 Thu, 11 May 2023 00:00:00 +0000 Teologi Penyembuhan Dalam Penebusan Kristus Menurut Yesaya 53:4-6 https://ojs.sttibc.ac.id/index.php/ibc/article/view/140
Some of Charismatic ministers tend to give it equal weight and emphasis, arguing from experience. Their books are often filled with claims of healings and deliverances that have occurred, but there is also evidence that these claims are invalid and healings are questionable. There are also those who seem to be healed after prayer but after returning home they become sick again, so healing here is just a suggestion.
